Sunday Sketches 10/28/12-Weapons to fight the dark.

Okay, so we have this raging, torrential storm on its way and expected to hit the NY/NJ area. It's supposed to spin in a counter-clockwise direction and come from our southeast.
So, of course, my husband switches
over to Survivor Mode.

Check out Sunday Sketches and catch up on the other artists that did some creating today too!
Oh don't get me wrong, I don't take these things lightly
but he is crazy serious, dear boy. He's been up since the crack of dawn, scheming and working and battening down the hatches,
while my son and I dream away in our beds til mid-morning.
C knows he is a complete target to our snickery and giggles,
while he lines up his flashlights and
counts his batteries. One part of me laughs and teases
about his behavior but there is the other part of
my brain that knows that I'm going to thank
my lucky stars that many hurricanes ago
I said "I do" to this nut.

And when I hold a fully lit flashlight for five days
straight he'll be smiling wide :))

Don't forget to visit this link to view
some other Sunday Sketchers work:)
Take care and be careful this week,
whether or not you are in the path of a this storm.

At least you'll have light. My hubby is the same way about things...he's always prepared for an emergency. I guess we should be thankful that they take such good care of us.

Stay safe!

I'm giggling with you....and at the caption under the flashlight that says "Manly flashlight Grrrr"

But in all seriousness, I hope those preparations are not necessary. So glad you have security and a plan in case you do. Men show us they love us in different ways then we show them....this is one of his ways :)

All my best,

How do you do it... Fran?! :]
Such a terrific visual of "playing it safe & being well prepared", for an emergency.
Wishing you safety and warmth under the blankets...
Take care ~xx

Love the sketches, fantastic. Hope you keep safe and don't need to use your survivors kit. Oh boy will you be kissing that man of yours if even on flashlight is needed... :) and yes he will be smiling like a Cheshire cat... :)

Hi all! Thanks for all the kind comments and good wishes... I hope I am wrong but I'm getting the feeling H. Sandy is looking like she's going to hammer us... They are starting to refer to Katrina on the news:(
Well there's nothing we can do but ride it out..

What, no headlamps???? Hope you are all safe. The wind is whipping around here in MA - expecting power outages any time now. Stood in line for batteries and wine yesterday (I've got my priorities straight!) and I'll be getting my fill of on-line until the WiFi gets knocked out.

I love your sketches!!! I also watched Sandy in the news here in Germany and it looked like you will probably really need all these tools and lamps. I very much hope you weathered the storm!

Great drawings Fran! Looking forward to your posts this month. Be sure and check out Aimee of Artsyville if you don't know of her already. I was thinking you might resonate with her work.
