Farmers Market

Our town of Pawling has a terrific farmers market. Today I was able to visit, a rarity as I usually work on Saturday mornings. I called in sick due to a dental emergency. Thankfully, I was able to venture out for a little while, whilst loaded up on Penicillin and Percocet. My husband was kind enough to put up with my demands of getting out of the house and guided me around the market. In my haze, I met up with some of the awesome vendors whose products I know and enjoy but had yet to meet. The visit wiped me out and I had a terrific nap afterwards. I plan on drawing and painting some of the items we attained today but it's slow going with this tooth pain. Above and below is some market-inspired art from weeks past))

The market mushrooms that inspired me to silkscreen at a recent workshop.

I printed some without the geometric background.

My favorite sourdough bread!

Carl felt we needed this HUGE piece of ginger, LOL. We are working on it!

The leeks were so tasty that week!

The red onions are one of my all time favorites, the tomatoes in this one are from our garden:)

The original mushroom drawing that started it all ;))

Hopefully you have a farmers market in your area. I hope you can visit and enjoy as we do. Happy Labor Day weekend!

Tea lovers

We have surely become addicted to tea and all of its trappings! I received a Teavana gift card at Christmas from my best friend and we are hooked. Well, my son and I. My husband will join us but he still loves his morning coffee. Now that we are almost through that tea, we went to Harney and Sons and stocked up. I got a subtle blueberry green tea and Joe got a much stronger Gunpowder Green tea. I also got some Earl Grey, my favorite.
I hope this Sunday is good to us all and you are having a great day!

Catch-up

I've fallen off the blog wagon for a bit... I'm back though! I recently participated in a tag swap that was held by a FB group I feeling to. I mailed my tag this week and eagerly anticipated the tag coming my way:)) this is part of the rabbit I don't want to show it entirely until my partner receives it.
I've been posting lots on Instagram and lately I've been leaning towards flowers as you can see ;)

Hoping for spring while drawing these daffodils!

I used a white gel pen for the one below. I have this small Fabriano book with all different color pages and I love using this white pen on the darker colored pages!
Have a great day!

Try it you'll like it

Trying hard not to fall behind on my personal challenge and 'agh!' I feel asleep early last night without creating a drawing... So much for perfection, huh? Well I plan to do two sketches this evening but for now I'm posting what I have done since my last post. :)

Shakespeare and Sakura

Hi there, and happy Tuesday! I had off for MLK day and was grateful for the break, I was able to get somethings done around the house.... Above is an illustration I created yesterday and hash tagged #handwritingmatters when I posted it on Instagram. This is because  National Handwriting Day is Saturday, January 23 and to celebrate, the company Sakura is hosting a giveaway. All you have to do is write your favorite quote on a piece of paper (preferably using one of Sakura’s products ;) ) and post the image, using the hashtag #handwritingmatterSakura will choose 10 prize winners between 1/15, Fri., and 1/25, Mon. Give it a try!
Have a great day,

Back to blogging in 2016

It's been awhile since I've blogged but I'm going to get back in the swing of it. I have things to say and share. Instagram is great for speed but I forgot how nice a blog is.

I started a new self-imposed 365 day challenge. I'm trying to make sure I do some art every day, as usual. Because I can let things go for weeks so if I have this slight pressure on me then I'll get it done.

Here is what I've done so far. PS I did not start on Jan 1st :)

There are some awesome artists out the also doing a #365day challenge. One that I particularly like a lot is August Wren. Her work is so inspiring!  I also like to check out Sally Nixon, she has great illustrations.

I'll do my best, it's all I can do! Will be back again tomorrow:))
