Back to blogging in 2016

It's been awhile since I've blogged but I'm going to get back in the swing of it. I have things to say and share. Instagram is great for speed but I forgot how nice a blog is.

I started a new self-imposed 365 day challenge. I'm trying to make sure I do some art every day, as usual. Because I can let things go for weeks so if I have this slight pressure on me then I'll get it done.

Here is what I've done so far. PS I did not start on Jan 1st :)

There are some awesome artists out the also doing a #365day challenge. One that I particularly like a lot is August Wren. Her work is so inspiring!  I also like to check out Sally Nixon, she has great illustrations.

I'll do my best, it's all I can do! Will be back again tomorrow:))

Art Renewal

 I 'm linking up to Artsyville's Glue-It Tuesdays
 I had started a painting on a page in my art journal but lost interest fast.
I thought I would use that as a base for this composition.

I keep a plastic sandwich bag for my watercolor scraps.
I get great satisfaction out of the fact that
I can use all these little bits together.

I did add some addtional paint to the purple bits, they looked too plain to me
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Another project I am working on involves this book I have WaterPaperPaint and I have tried a number of the projects.
This one is Project 20:
 the edges of the artwork don't appear perfectly straight,
 I'll have to flatten in some books.
Of course, as I do with most instructions and recipes,
I don't read all the way through...[shocker]
I was supposed to use black paper or matte black acrylic to start but I just used black gouache.
So it got a bit tricky and easily muddied up the brighter gouache colors.
So next time I will be sure to use acrylic, then I won't have to go over alot of the elements to brighten them up.
I am tempted to cut this up and make four ATCs but I think I am going to leave it.
Detail, a look closer
My favorite part are the blues, in the top left quarter and bottom left quarter. Green is my favorite color but blue is such a close second.
 I am so glad its getting warmer. Aren't you?
A few spring-y things:
 specimens I selected while on my walk with the dog.
the crocuses are coming!
Happy Easter, Happy Spring!
Have a terrific weekend and enjoy!
Take care,
Fran T xo
Twelvetwelvetwelve
Well I'm here and posting - woohoo! Not much to say, been busy like I should be.
Life, work, kid, holidays, more work, etc, and blah blah blah.
As usual I'm trying to do art in between the raindrops and its been stormy!! ;0)
I sat for some time tonight to commerorate this strange, semi-pointless day of twelves.
Numbers, time, its all pretty much an illusion isn't it? hmmm..
Here are some more from that page:
I've also been trying out some papercutting. I got a book the other day and I'm still reading through it and check things out. So, I did a papercut and, boy, they are hard to do. I am using an Xacto blade and not scissors. yet.
I've got other things I'm doing too , mostly doodles but I'm trying to do something every day! Just got to or I'll disintegrate, I think LOL!
Linking up today with Mary today:)
have a happy week!
Take care,
So, I'm trying... it's all good, right? Here is what I worked on today. below are other's I've done this month that I haven't posted yet.
I am off starting tomorrow and go back to work Dec3.
I decided to take some time off to plan to rest and detox from it all!
Also I have little plans of cleaning, organizing and creating.
Let's just see what happens...
I'm just going to post a few things I've been up to in between the raindrops of family and job.  I did have these on Instagram so I'm sorry if you saw these already:)
I'm also putting up some patterns I've been posting for PatternADay November on Instagram:
 Hoping everyone has a wonderful turkey day! Happy Thanksgiving!
Take care and drive safely!
