Smile!
Smile! Just know this weather is not here to stay ... Yay! I'm so ready for spring! I've been drawing a lot lately and got a new Fabriano sketchbook with multiple colored pages.
I only wish they made a bigger size... Actually they might as I haven't looked into that yet...

A little more spring
My goodness, this snow is never ending! My son is loving all the days off, glad someone is happy;) I keep seeing daffodils and tulips in the stores so they keep me going, that's for sure. I feel stuck lately but I'm always up for drawing/painting a flower. I bought a little pot of daffodils and they are prime right now, however they'll be gone soon so I have to scope out my next victim, lol. I drew this last night and painted around the marker with gouache.
Zoomed out a little.
This has nothing to do with anything. I just saw ln Pinterest and thought it was cool!
Have a good night and be well, Fran T/WeThree3

Small work
I spoke too soon:) I didn't get a bit of painting in this past weekend!
But it's all good. I was creative in my yard.
Raking up grass clippings, weeding, but most important -observing.
I'm trying to keep simple and I'm jotting,
sketching and doodling things down into my little sketch book.
keeping things easy...
just drawing with not too much intensity between my ears...
documenting a meal...
Thanks so much for all the nice comments I've received so far this summer.
I hope all is well and I'm planning on visiting some more blogs this weekend.
Enjoy the weather. It's been downright delightful here and the humidity
has disappeared for a little while.
Take care,
Fran T xo

Glue It Tuesday - mini books
hello! Here's what I got for Glue It Tuesday: not my typical collage but a project involving glue nonetheless! I have been working on a some little books and there is a fair amount of glue used, particularly on the smaller purple book.
I got excellent instruction from Esther K Smith's 'How To Make Books'. Here is the booklet I made below.
I put together about 4 of those/signatures together and then glued them all back to back. Then I glued the front and back of that little booklet I made to the purple paper.
I stitched the other book together rather than glueing it all [I just used a tiny bit of glue on the cording but I still "GluedIt!"] I sewed the signatures to the 'spine' which I created by folding the green paper. I added the beads and that is the first time I tried that. I can see how you can get carried away with embelishing the stitching! I had such a good time making these.
I was able to get a bit of drawing done the past few days. Mostly working with my markers these days. Time is not allowing me watercolors right now, but soon!
I hope everyone has a great day today:)
Lots of SUN & SMILES
Take care,
Fran T xo

ART EVERYDAY MONTH - Day 1
I cannot believe its already been a year since the last AEDM!!
Its been a rough week for our family with Hurricane Sandy. All I can say is that I am thankful for just having lost power and heat.

There are so many out there with much bigger troubles than I have and my heart goes out to them all.

List It Tuesday
QUICK FIXES
( or are they?)
Aimee's got a great list prompt this week.
Now that I've got it written down, it seems so much more manageable,
I just might do these few:)
This list typically runs on Tuesdays but due to the hurricane
she started the contest early in case power is lost.
I'm doing the same, signing on early due to the hurricane Sandy.
Our lights keep flickering and the tall, tall trees out side are swaying ominously.
It's a waiting game. And we have our flashlights at the ready:)

its about time!
It's Friday and its about time! Wow, it felt a bit long for me! As well as the fact that I've
participate with Artsyville's fun challenge!
I actually forgot to add fortune cookie fortunes to the list but I happen to have made a page
devoted to these little slips of fun...
I'm actually a sucker for tons more things, but these are the ones with the most suction
lately for me...I also forgot to add Instagram, now THAT can get to be an
obsession if you're not careful!

obsession if you're not careful!
It is so brand new for me that I am getting a bit wrapped up and
insisting all my friends and family get on board too.
But goodness, could they have made it any easier for chrissakes!? Its makes Facebook and
Twitter look and feel so damn complicated. Not to mention Blogger, LOL!

Well don't forget to visit Aimee's blog, she's always got something great she's

AEDM Day 15 - Tiny Buddha
This is my first page in my new handmade journal. I am going to title my journal "What I See". As I journaled, I first noticed this little sculpture while out for a walk and I was delighted. I get happier and happier as the days go by because no one has lifted him :) Maybe they don't see him because he's so small (1"h)? Or he looks so quiet they don't want to disturb him? For whatever reason, I like when I see him...So the sketch started of a bit hairy. I don't usually use Fabriano watercolor paper and its quite different from my beloved Arches CP. Its alot more rough. So I began the sketch using a thicker pointed marker but I forgot that it not water resistant! So I continued on and then decided to use my thin Staedtler markers for color and , silly me, those are not water resistent either. I decided what the heck and put my brush in the water and figured I'll do my best! The colors ran quite a bit but I was able to control them pretty well, in my opinion. I added a little bit of watercolor here and there and got this done pretty quickly. Its 12 now and I started it all at 10:45... sloppy but quick. Thanks for stopping by and reading about my tiny friend.
