Perfect Breakfast and other art

My AEDM and Sunday Sketch art for today
was inspired by my first meal of the day.
I am not that strong of a breakfast eater but I try.
I like to keep it light but know I
should go heavier on the protein.
relying alot on Instagram now that I am without a scanner for a few days

Unfortunately, I am a big fan of carbs so they typically
win out due to their ability to easily convert to sugar,
my drug of choice.
Adding more sugar (jam), plus fat (butter),
further enhances the experience.*sigh*

I've been here at my mom and dad's for seven days now,
as of tonight our house is still out of power.
Its obvious we've all got some cabin fever, boy!
You can tell by my page below:))
LOL! have to have a laugh!

Playing and journaling with stamps I made yesterday

Oh boy, but am I ever grateful for the ability to have a place to go.  My parents are the best, for they have to put up with the bunch of us!!

trying out different patterns

The gas shortage doesn't help because we are
afraid of using the gas in our cars unwisely.
But we did manage to get out today,
my mom had gotten tickets a while back for a
performance at Stony Brook University
so we took the kids there. It was great being out.
When we left the show it was so dark
at 5:30 :(( And driving on the roads
we could still see some sections of homes were still out of power.
A week is a long time to have no heat and electricity.

more pattern types to try, having fun with this!

These books are so helpful and informative!

My additional photos shows the great time
I have been having carving new lino stamps and
arranging them into different patters. I love
the effects I am getting and now working
 on making up some cards.

this book is AMAZING and definatly going on my Christmas list!
Hope everyone has a terrific week , I am
back to work completely full time tomorrow.
One more step towards normalcy! Yay!
Take care

Completely Caffinated

What can I say? love this stuff.
I'm not even a snob, I like good coffee but I'll drink anything.
My favorite is a red eye-regular coffee with a shot of espresso.
But I try not to do that too often as I can become a little unbearable and jumpy.
I mostly drink that if I'm super tired.

Look, I'm posting my sketch  as well!
I sketched this out of copy paper then transferred it to my watercolor book,
which is something I hardly ever do.
I usually just wing it, which brings me mild success.
I know I'd be better off if I planned well
but my brain doesn't work that way. Maybe I need more coffee ;)

Have a good day!
.: never forget :.

Portrait #16 Who's That Girl

Yay! I've worked out another portrait! I'm behind in the count but I'm okay with that!

I have no idea where she came from, just emerged on paper:)
I love that kind because I can see wee bits of other people in my life.
Tomorrow i have planned to do some more portraits.
I want to go out this month with a BANG!

I got out my microns a few days back and played around with the finest little point 005
( i love that one!)

I am almost done with the wonderful little sketch book Pat sent to me. So when I went to
Blick the other day I remembered to get some sheets of paper . Now
I plan on making another at the very same size!
The pages work out to 4.5"x5.5", perfect size. I need another small book...

And this is the last micron sketch i did on the last page of my small Moleskine.
I did these sketches about a week or so ago...the last times i had tea.

LOL, I like tea and its sooo much fun to draw/paint tea cups and such.
I also enjoy all the little paraphenalia that goes along with it.
The loose leaves, the tea ball, the cozy, the illustrated tea boxes, sugar cubes, etc. etc.. but in the end I am a coffee girl!

And my favorite is the red-eye at Starbucks.
I don't get that too often because THAT is craziness in a cup!... I treat myself every so often.
Do you like the java or enjoy a spot of tea?

Enjoy your Friday!

More White On White...and then some!

Here are some photos of things I am trying out. I went to our ATM Collective meeting on Monday and there are a few more spots available for our White on White show next week. We have alot of work already but there is alot of wall space:) I am trying out another paper collage. I want to go bigger. I am so used to working at 4x6 or 5x7 sizes that when do something about 11x14 I think I am going really large (LOL) and, nope, I'm not! I gotta break free and go BIG! So I tried to fold some paper and cut some squiggly background. I am not certain this is what I will end up with but I am having fun!

on a white background

other shapes

While looking through recent photos I realize that I have a bit of an affinity for white these days. Must be on the brain due to the show. Here are a few that I pulled up when I was picking out the others above!
Red Velvet cupcakes

Flowers at Adams

Frosty ;D

white tree, that I like and hate simultaneously
Gorgeous

the endless cup o' joe

Are you finding that you are drawn to one color lately , or maybe more often than that?
I was reading a favorite blog the other day and she posted all about red. That's what inspired me with posting my white photos, thanks Carol! :)
Thanks for stopping by!

AEDM Day 3 - Early start today!

Yep, super bright, super early. Practically no sleep at all last night.. oh my goodness, this insomnia is going to be the death of me. I never ever had any issues with rest. I LOVE to sleep. I hope this ends soon. Telecommuting is a tricky thing, I think my days and nights are switched up. I have to just get thru today no matter how tired I am and not nap....then hit the hay early..Aside from that it was great, I got to sketch this morning at about 5 am. LOL!
Here is my sketch and the pains of having a name like Fran...It truly is hard finding an F, forget even my name, the initial is hard enough ;0) ...oh my, if that were my biggest problem in life)) well, I like the challenge of having to sketch every day. Keeps my brain busy looking for things to sketch/paint. I have to work on my abstract this weekend. That is, if I'm not sleeping in on Saturday.
